Shanghai Fuyuan Fuel Oil, a subsidiary of PetroChina, on Tuesday (17 January) completed its first bunkering operation at Shanghai port, reported Xinhua News Agency.
It supplied 300 metric tonnes (mt) of low sulphur bonded bunker fuel to the Sinotrans Shanghai containership at Waigaoqiao Phase V Port Area of Shanghai Port.
In August 2022, PetroChina SIPG Energy Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Fuyuan Fuel Oil Co., Ltd. became the first two companies to obtain bonded bunkering business licences from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce.
The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce in March issued requirements for local oil companies interested in being a licensed bonded bunker supplier for international vessels at Shanghai port.
Shanghai Fuyuan Fuel Oil, along with several new bunkering firms, was established in 2022 as part of operations to develop China’s bunkering sector.
