Marine fuels trading firm ElbOil recently released a statement highlighting its commitment on fund raising and disaster relief efforts for children affected by earthquakes at Turkey. The firm is also appealing for additional donations to GALATASARAY SK and DARUSSAFAKA as part of its aid campaign:
Dear Network
Containers are great for shipping and as ElbOil we are proud to supply the world container fleet, but containers are disaster relief too as the containerised homes provide instant, safe, fully equipped living space to people when most needed. As ElbOil we are very happy to work with Turkey’s leading sports club, GALATASARAY SK to build fully equipped container homes to help the victims of Turkey’s 6 February earthquakes. In good and bad days, containers are great for the world we care for.
Turkey earthquakes caused tens of thousands of deaths and billions of dollars of damage. At ElbOil, we try to look through the eyes of future generations and we saw that biggest disaster is for the children who lost their parents. They will suffer emotional effects for many years, but they will also face reduced prospects of education, advancement and prosperity. In order to offset that, we have teamed up with DARUSSAFAKA foundation in Turkey, which provides first class education at its boarding schools to orphans, enabling them to be ready for better opportunities. As ElbOil, we will be funding DARUSSAFAKA for their efforts to onboard 170 children who lost their parents to the recent earthquakes. Funding will be utilized to build additional classroom and dormitory facilities to accommodate these children.
