Vietnam: Coast Guard temporarily seizes fuel oil cargo over violations

The Zone 4 Marine Police Command of Vietnam Coast Guard on Monday (25 May) said it has temporarily seized a fuel oil cargo of 35,000 litres being carried a vessel manned by two crew due to “signs of violation”.

“At the time of inspection, the captain could not produce all kinds of invoices and documents proving the legal origin of the quantity of oil, both crew members did not have a certificate of professional qualifications,” it said in a statement.

As such, coast guard personnel made a record of administrative violations, issued a decision to temporarily seize material evidences, escorted the vessel to the area of ??Dong Hai and Hai Phong ports to continue investigations.
