Marine fuel supplier Peninsula on Wednesday (1 February) said it has welcomed a new bunker supply tanker Hercules Sun, to the Peninsula bunkering fleet for its Gibraltar operations.
The 8,000 dwt supply vessel is sister vessel to the Hercules Star which arrived in August last year.
“On her journey from the Dayang Shipyard in Jiangsu, China, she called at Fujairah, our newest physical location, where we supplied her for her onward journey through the Suez Canal before arriving in Gibraltar where she will be based,” the firm said in a social media post.
The firm’s latest supply vessel will add extra tonnage to its worldwide operations and provide increased flexibility.
“We are very thankful to all those involved in this project and to those who ensured she arrived home safely,” the company added.
In a previous post, Peninsula said Hercules Sun delivered 6,700 mt of marine gasoil (MGO) to The Hawks Pvt Ltd storage facilities in the Maldives.
The vessel undertook this delivery whilst en route to Peninsula’s Gibraltar hub where the ship started operating as a bunker supply tanker from 17 January.
Manifold Times previously reported Peninsula taking delivery of Hercules Star in Gibraltar in July last year.
The vessel arrived in Gibraltar from Dayang Shipyard, China on 19 July.
Following that, Peninsula then announced the commencement of physical operations in the Port of Fujairah.
