Bunkering accident: Containers fall from Maersk vessel onto tanker

A bunkering accident between bunker tanker Kollum and box vessel Charlotte Maersk took place at the Port of Panama City on Tuesday (6 November, 2018), reported the Maritime Bulletin.

Three containers fell from the container ship; two crashed on the bunker tanker while a third fell into the water.

Details of the parties are as follows:

  • Container ship CHARLOTTE MAERSK, IMO 9245744, dwt 109657, capacity 7226 TEU, built 2002, flag Denmark, manager MAERSK Line
  • Bunker tanker KOLLUM, IMO 9260380, dwt 7157, built 2003, flag Panama, manager ERIK THUN AB
