In light of our recent article regarding magnets in Singapore, Viking Marine Services would like to provide the following updates and advice.
We would like to clarify that apart from the occasional quantity difference between MFM/BDN figures and receiving vessel’s manual tank gauging being seen, there has been no conclusive evidence of spikes in bunker shortages due to the usage of magnets. We urge any party coming across such acts to give feedbacks to MPA immediately.
In Singapore, all bunker deliveries via a bunker tanker fixed with the approved MFM system will have to adhere to its regulation as stated in the TR48:2015, which mentions that outturn quantity is based on the MFM. The ongoing solution would be education and training of stakeholders as bunker deliveries using MFMs will always be new for stakeholders bunkering at Singapore for the very first time.
Our team at Viking Marine Services will always be on the front line to guide and assist stakeholders to ensure that they get the best possible bunkering experience in Singapore.
