Global marine fuel supply and procurement firm TFG Marine on Wednesday (7 October) said another ISO 22192-certified mass flow meter (MFM) system was added to its bunker fleet.
The installation and certification of the MFM system on the Storholmen, marked its third MFM deployment on the US Gulf Coast in less than two months.
The installation follows the fitting of MFM systems on the Buffalo B414 and Buffalo B304.
TFG said the latest installation forms part of its wider rollout of MFM and digitalisation across its bunkering fleet, aimed at improving the accuracy and transparency of bunker quantity measurement.
“It also takes MFM deployment across our global bunkering fleet to over 90%, underlining the scale of our commitment to modernising bunkering operations and raising standards across the industry,” the company said in a social media post.
TFG also called on port authorities and regulators to support wider adoption of certified MFM technology, saying this would help establish a more transparent, consistent and trusted bunkering environment for customers worldwide.
Last year, TFG Marine announced it reached a key milestone in its global digitalisation programme with the installation of an ISO 22192-compliant MFM on the Buffalo 404, a barge on time charter from American bunker barge company Buffalo Marine Service Inc.
