Marine fuel supplier Verde Marine Energy (VME) on Monday (19 October) announced the expansion of its environmental trading services with the launch of a dedicated environmental trading desk in Oslo.
The company said this extension strengthens VME’ ability to supply and trade low‑carbon solutions and environmental commodities globally and supports customers navigating evolving compliance regulations and obligations.
To lead this strategic expansion, VME has appointed Trine Braathen as Director, Environmental Trading.
“Trine brings proven expertise in environmental markets and will oversee the Environmental trading and compliance covering multiple sectors which is an extension to VME’ extremely successful B100 and biofuels supply operations headed by Christian Sterken and Joe Tierney, accelerating VME’ position as a full‑service partner for shipping, industrial, land and aviation customers seeking compliance advisory,” the company said in a social media post.
Based in Oslo, Braathen will work closely with Verde Marine’s commercial, operations, and technical teams across Europe and the full group. The focus will be regulatory markets.
“Braathen’s deep market knowledge and leadership will be central as we scale environmental commodity solutions that reduce customers’ carbon exposure while ensuring operational continuity,” it added.
