Inland waterway and maritime ship owner Sogestran Group on Friday (27 September) said LNG bunkering barge Energy Stockholm is on its maiden voyage to reach the Antwerp-Rotterdam-Amsterdam (ARA) area.

After two years of construction, the Energy Stockholm left the RMK Marine shipyard on 13 September.

“It is currently making the only sea voyage of its existence to reach the Antwerp-Rotterdam-Amsterdam area, where it will enter service in November,” it said in a social media post.

“It is going to be Europe’s largest LNG bunkering barge, with a capacity of 8,000 m³.”

The Energy Stockholm will be owned and operated by LNG Shipping, a joint venture between Victrol and Sogestran Group.

In a separate post, RMK Marine regarded the vessel as the largest inland bunker tanker built in Europe.
