Dubai-based marine fuel trader Oilmar completes management buy-out

This comes following Oilmar’s September announcement on the company’s management commencing the process of acquiring all shares in response to developments regarding its Ultimate Beneficial Owner.

Korea-based integrated logistics company HMM on Thursday (16 October) said it ordered new vessels worth KRW 4 trillion (USD 2.8 billion), marking a significant investment in its fleet portfolio. The order includes a dozen 13,000 TEU sister ships and two Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs). The 13,000 TEU container vessels, all LNG dual-fuelled ships, will be built by HD Hyundai Heavy and Hanhwa Ocean. As decarbonisation regulations from the IMO and EU continue to strengthen, HMM said LNG is viewed as one of the most readily deployable lower-emission fuels. “By adding these new LNG dual-fuelled vessels to its existing portfolio, which already includes methanol-powered containerships and LNG-powered vessels, HMM continues to strengthen its position in sustainable shipping,” HMM said. “The new VLCCs will also contribute to diversifying and reinforcing the company’s bulk fleet portfolio.” Photo credit: HMM HMM puts in massive newbuilding order of 12 LNG dual-fuel boxships and VLCC duo
