03 May 2021

The Task Force of the 4th Marine Police Area Command on Thursday (29 April) said it had arrested a fishing vessel which attempted to flee after being signalled to stop, according to the Vietnam Coast Guard.

The fishing vessel spotted at 16:00 on April 27, about 75 nautical miles at the sea area southeast of Con Dao, was brought to a stop at 20:30 on the same day.

During inspection, the coast guard found the ship transporting about 60,000 litres of diesel oil; with the Captain not being able to produce documents proving the origin of the oil.

A record of the administrative violation was made and the vessel was escorted to the port of Fleet 421, Nam Can town, Ca Mau province for further investigation and handling according to the provisions of law.
