Sinopec to supply IMO 2020 compliant bunkers from deadline

Development applies to all marine fuel supplied, says General Manager of Sinopec Fuel Oil Company.
The General Manager of Sinopec Fuel Oil Company Thursday said all of the company’s bunker fuel supplied will be IMO 2020 compliant by the deadline of 1 January 2020, reports Reuters.
Liu Zurong made the statement at a Zhoushan oil conference, saying Sinopec will be targeting to market low sulphur bunker fuel to Singapore and some “One Belt One Road” countries by 2020.
The IMO 2020 regulation requires all ships to burn marine fuel with a sulphur content of not more than 0.5% from 2020 onwards.
