Inland shipping companies at Rotterdam can now apply for financial support to the Port of Rotterdam Authority’s scheme for: Clean inland shipping and sustainable logistics in Rotterdam.
This scheme provides contributions to new projects that result in reductions in fuel consumption, greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4) and air emissions (NOx, PM) by inland shipping, it says.
Applications can be submitted to the Inland Shipping Expertise and Innovation Centre (EICB) until 28 February 2018.
An independent Innovation Council will then assess the proposals and rank them based on the expected environmental returns (reduction in fuel consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and air emissions) per euro invested in the initiative in the Rotterdam region up to 2025.
The Incentive Scheme is open for applications from companies, public law organisations or combinations of these.
The maximum amounts are 25% for eligible research projects and 75% for projects focusing on concrete implementation of tangible initiatives.
