Netherlands-based maritime liquified natural gas (LNG) bunkering company Titan LNG on Tuesday (26 May) said the FlexFueler 001 has delivered liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a marine fuel to product tanker Ramelia whilst working cargo at the Eurotank Terminal at the Port of Rotterdam.
The operation was a joint effort with Furetank Rederi AB and VTTI B.V..
The company said this is the first time a simultaneous operation (SIMOPS) has taken place with LNG bunkering at the Eurotank Terminal in Rotterdam, allowing the Ramelia to unload cargo whilst receiving LNG bunkers.
This important step will enable the receiving vessel to have a quicker turnaround in the port as it does not have to shift to a designated LNG bunkering location, such as the Titan LNG facility.
Titan LNG adds that it will continue to engage with various other terminals throughout the ARA region to ensure more SIMOPS can be realized and would like to thank all stakeholders for carrying out this operation.
