The bunker sales volume at Panama Canal jumped 51.6% on year in August, according to latest data from La Autoridad Marítima de Panamá, also known as the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA).
Total bunker sales at Panama Canal was 528,572 metric tonnes (mt) in August 2019, compared to sales of 348,664 mt during the similar month in 2018.
In August 2019, the canal’s Pacific entrance posted bunker sales of 413,095 mt; 361,259 mt of fuel oil was sold and 51,836 mt of marine diesel oil (MDO) were delivered.
The similar location saw total sales of 275,591 mt a year before; with fuel oil sales of 256,773 mt and MDO sales of 18,818 mt.
The canal’s Pacific entrance recorded sales of 115,477 mt; 104,172 mt of fuel oil was sold and 11,305 mt of MDO were sold.
Last year, it saw total sales of 73,073 mt a year before; with fuel oil sales of 62,953 mt and MDO sales of 10,120 mt.
