GSI delivers first LNG dual-fuel tanker built for Singapore-based EPS

Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) recently delivered the Atlantic Pearl, the first vessel in a series of 111,000 DWT LNG dual-fuel crude/product tankers built for Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS).
The handover was completed significantly ahead of the contractual delivery date. Sergey Rogov, head of the EPS site team; Kang Youping, deputy general manager of GSI; and Cao Naiwen, business manager at China Shipbuilding Trading Co Ltd (CSTC), attended the ceremony and signed the delivery documents on behalf of the three parties.
EPS, the shipowner of the project, is a globally renowned shipping company headquartered in Singapore and is among the world’s largest privately owned shipowners.
The Atlantic Pearl is the lead ship in an eight-vessel LR2 tanker series independently designed and developed by GSI. The new-generation tankers feature dual-fuel propulsion capable of operating on both conventional fuel and liquefied natural gas (LNG). Each vessel measures 250 metres in length, 44 metres in beam, and has a design draft of 14.7 meters.
With a deadweight of about 111,000 tonnes and a service speed of 14.5 knots, the ships meet IMO Tier III emission standards and comply with Phase 3 requirements under the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI). The design emphasises high speed, reduced lightship weight, lower energy consumption, and strong operational versatility.
“GSI has consistently aligned its designs with evolving market demand for various types of oil tankers, continuously optimizing technical solutions and leveraging its extensive construction experience. These efforts have significantly enhanced the shipyard’s control over build cycles, earning strong confidence from shipowners,” the shipbuilder said.
“The successful delivery of the Atlantic Pearl further demonstrates GSI’s capabilities in tanker design and construction and strengthens its standing in the global shipping market.”
