The Grimaldi Group on Friday (24 October) said it held a naming and delivery ceremony of Grande Melbourne, the third of seven ammonia-ready Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs) on 22 October at the Port of Shanghai.
The vessel was built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (SWS) for the company.
Designed for maximum efficiency and versatility, the 200-metre vessel can carry up to 9,241 CEU and halve CO2 emissions per cargo unit transported.

Ms. Xu Huayan—Director of Shanghai Haitong International Automotive Terminal Co., Ltd.—acted as the godmother of the vessel.
“Now ready to begin her maiden voyage on the Asia–Europe route, with around 5,900 cars and 800 linear meters of rolling cargo on board, the Grande Melbourne strengthens the Grimaldi Group’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and efficient global logistics,” the company said in a social media post.
