BMT Bunker conducts first B100 bio bunker fuel delivery in Germany

German bunkering services company BMT Bunker recently successfully conducted the first bunkering operation of a B100 biofuel in Germany.
BMT Bunker supplied 1,200 metric tonnes (mt) of 100% UCOME(Used Cooking Oil Methyl Ester)-based biofuel, an environmentally friendly biodiesel derived from recycled cooking oil, to Jan De Nul Group’s trailing suction hopper dredger Kaishuu, according to both firms.
The UCOME biodiesel carries the ISCC (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) certification.
BMT Bunker and Mineralöltransport GmbH employed the tanker Finja for the bunkering operation of the biofuel to the Kaishuu.
“This successful bunkering operation serves as a strong testament to our shared commitment to making the maritime industry more environmentally friendly and sustainable, while bolstering the maritime industry in Germany,” both firms said.
