DNV chooses London to launch its latest Maritime Forecast to 2050 report

Report will feature alternative technologies that may help the maritime industry prepare for bunker fuel supply shortages and high prices in the future, amongst others.

Classification society DNV recently announced its upcoming participation in this year’s London International Shipping Week (LISW) where it will be launching its latest Maritime Forecast to 2050 report. 

DNV said LISW will focus on maritime innovation within the last decade. The week will bring together key players from the global shipping industry to discuss and promote London’s unique position as a leading maritime hub. 

As a Platinum sponsor, DNV will host the global launch event of its Energy Transition Outlook 2023 – Maritime Forecast to 2050 report at the IET London, Savoy Place on 12 September. 

“While continuing to examine the impact of the latest regulatory decisions from the IMO and EU, and the development of an eco-system for alternative fuels, this year’s report takes a deep dive into shorter-term decarbonization solutions such as energy efficiency measures and technologies,” it said in its event announcement. 

The report also presents two new economic cases for alternative technologies that may help the maritime industry prepare for fuel supply shortages and high prices in the future.

The event will see an introduction and keynote speech by Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen, Chief Executive Officer, Maritime, DNV and Anne Moschner, Director Communications and Marketing, Maritime, DNV.

There will also be a live panel discussing on the topic of How to Shape Maritime’s Energy Future. 

The panel will feature:
