Hong Kong shipowner Wah Kwong Maritime Transport on Thursday (22 January) said it welcomed China’s first dual‑fuel methanol-powered bunkering vessel, Da Qing 268, to our managed fleet.

It is the fourth bunkering vessel under the company’s care, joining the Hai Gang Wei Lai, the world’s largest LNG bunkering vessel at the time of its launch; the Hai Gang Zhi Yuan, the first methanol bunkering vessel in China; and the Huaihe Nengyuan Qihang, China’s first river‑sea LNG bunkering vessel.

This 109.9‑metre-long, 7,500 DWT vessel with 10,362 m³ of cargo tank capacity recently completed its first ship-to-ship bunkering operation on 21 January at Yantian Port in Shenzhen, supplying 200 tonnes of green methanol to the container ship COSCO SHIPPING Carnation.

“The green methanol was supplied by CIMC Enric Holdings Limited from its Zhanjiang (Guangdong) facility which started operations in December 2025,” the company said.

“We are proud to support Yantian Port (Shenzhen) in this landmark operation, which represents a major leap in building the fuel-port-vessel ecosystem within the Greater Bay Area.”
