Singapore: Marine fuel sales jumps 10% on year during October 2020 at the republic

Sales of marine fuels at Singapore port increased by 10% on year during October 2020, according to Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) data.

In total, 4.15 million metric tonnes (mt) (exact: 4,152,362 mt) of various bunker fuels were sold at the world’s largest bunkering port in October, more than 3.77 million mt (exact: 3,767,667 mt) recorded during October 2019. 

Deliveries of 500 centistokes (cSt), 380 cSt and 180 cSt grades in October 2020 (against on year), were respectively 78,600 mt (-84.4% from 503,000 mt), 1,005,800 mt (-55.4% from 2.26 million mt), while 180 cSt product recorded no sales (-100% from 17,600 mt). 

Low sulphur variants of 500 cSt, 380 cSt and 180 cSt products respectively recorded no sales, 2.23 million mt (significantly up from 459,300 mt), and 10,500 mt (-90.47% from 110,577 mt). 

The latest data introduced new categories, namely low sulphur 100 cSt which recorded 462,200 mt and ULSFO had no sales in October.

Low sulphur marine gas oil (LS MGO) sales were posted at 328,400 mt (+11.0% from 293,939 mt) and MGO at 33,200 mt (-35.3% from 51,320 mt).
