Bunker sales at Panama dipped by about 2% on year in March 2021, according to the latest data from La Autoridad Marítima de Panamá, also known as the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA).
Total bunker sales at Panama was 439,028 metric tonnes (mt) in March, compared to sales of 448,093 mt during the similar period in 2020.
In March 2021, the Pacific side of Panama posted bunker sales 393,215 mt; 281,308 mt of VLSFO, 75,189 mt of RMG 380, 10,692 mt of marine gas oil (MGO), and 26,026 mt of low sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO) were delivered.
The similar region saw total sales of 369,486 mt a year before in March; with VLSFO sales of 295,797 mt, RMG 380 sales of 75,189 mt, MGO sales of 40,369 mt, and 7,880 mt of LSMGO being sold.
Panama’s Atlantic side, meanwhile, recorded sales of 45,813 mt during March 2021; 33,551 mt of VLSFO, 4,380 mt of RMG 380, 7,882 mt of LSMGO were delivered; MGO recorded no sales.
It saw total sales of 78,607 mt in the similar period a year before; with VLSFO sales of 57,639 mt, RMG 380 sales of 9,320 mt, LSMGO sales of 1,350 mt, and MGO sales of 10,298 mt.
