Zero-emissions marine transportation service provider Future Proof Shipping B.V.(FPS) on Thursday (2 July) said the development of its first hydrogen powered inland vessel The Maas has been steadily performing her duties over the past few months on her time charter with BCTN Network of Inland Terminals.
The Maas carries containers between Rotterdam and Belgium, and the FPS team have been carefully measuring the energy consumed on her trips between ports, it said.
The company also published some photographs of the torque sensors and energy monitoring equipment being installed onboard in February.
FPS is now analysing all the data it has collected so far to finalise its hydrogen fuel cell system design.
Techno Fysica B.V. Centre provided the measurement techniques and Technisch Installatiebureau Oechies installed the systems onboard with the help of the FPS crew.
