Haikou Customs recently announced Hainan Free Trade Port broke its 10,000-metric tonne (mt) bunkering milestone, according to China-based news outlets on Saturday (11 March).
In detail, the development saw a total of 11,400 mt of low-sulphur bonded fuel oil being delivered to 18 international vessels at the maritime facility.
According to reports, after launching the Yangpu-Beibu Gulf bonded oil cross-customs direct supply business, bunkering companies’ oil supply time and cost have been significantly reduced, and the business model has also been upgraded from ‘one ship, one supply’ to ‘one ship, multi-port and multi-supply’ operation model, which has greatly improved the efficiency of port oil supply in the Pan-Beibu Gulf region.
Zuo Li, the manager of Sinopec Fuel Oil (Hainan) Co., Ltd., said thanks to the ‘one-stop handling’ of the customs’ business model, the data items of the company’s electronic declaration have been reduced by 30%, and the business processing time has been reduced by 40%.
In order to realise the ‘one-stop handling’ of the whole process of bonded oil supply across customs areas, Haikou Customs and Nanning Customs jointly formulated the ‘Measures for Bonded Oil Direct Supply Business Supervision Contact and Cooperation’, which facilitates enterprises to go through customs procedures only once.
The initiative has helped promote a paperless process and effectively reduce the duration of customs clearance for enterprises.
