Enterprise Singapore: Proposal made to improve terminal to bunker tanker oil transfers

08 Oct 2018

The Technical Committee (TC) for Bunkering, which operates under the Chemical Standards Committee of the Singapore Chemical Industry Council, has submitted a proposal to the national standards body Enterprise Singapore to improve marine fuel transfer operations from oil terminals to bunker tankers.

The proposal covers a “new standard on quantity, measurement and sampling requirements for transfer of bunker fuel from oil terminals to bunker tankers using Mass Flow Metering,” an Enterprise Singapore spokesperson told Manifold Times on Monday.

“This proposed standard complements existing standards to ensure transparent and fair trade in the bunkering ecosystem.

“The proposal will undergo a one-month public notification to seek views of stakeholders on the scope of the standard at the end of this year.

“Enterprise Singapore and the Chemical Standards Committee will consider the comments received before proceeding with the development of the standard.”
