China: Chimbusco joins initiative to develop maritime green ammonia supply chain

Chinese stakeholders signed an agreement to develop a green ammonia supply chain in China on 8 September at a forum in Xiamen, Fujian, according to China Marine Bunker (Petro China) (Chimbusco) on Friday (12 September).

At the 7th Silk Road Maritime International Cooperation Forum, Chimbusco, China Waterborne Transport Research Institute, Tianjin Southwest Maritime Limited, classification society DNV, and Jinzhou Port agreed to participate in the Initiative to Jointly Develop a Maritime Green Ammonia Fuel Supply Chain.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Transport’s Water Transport Research Institute, aims to strengthen cooperation, build a green ammonia fuel maritime supply system and promote technological innovation and development.

The company also said the supply chain will also promote efficient connection between supply, transportation, and demand, and accelerate the robust development of the ammonia fuel production, transportation, storage, trade, and bunkering industry chain.

At the forum, the 2025 Silk Road Maritime Roundtable was held with nearly 30 leading representatives from global ports, shipping, and other sectors gathered for in-depth discussions on the theme of “Integrated Development of Ports, Shipping, and Trade under the Framework of Regional Cooperation.”

Qin Ling, Party Committee Secretary and General Manager of Chimbusco, a bunker supplier serving the Silk Road Maritime shared his insights on how to leverage the cross-sector advantages of the Silk Road Maritime network to promote the integrated development of ports, shipping, and trade along it.

The roundtable unanimously adopted the 2025 Xiamen Initiative of the Silk Road Maritime, expanding the depth and breadth of the international cooperation network and providing numerous innovative ideas for building a new landscape of integrated port, shipping, and trade development.
