Lloyd’s Register Fuel Oil Bunkering Analysis and Advisory Service (FOBAS) on Friday (12 January) announced an online webinar will be held next month to discuss how to optimise compliance with a series of new regulations by the EU.

“The EU has set ambitious targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from shipping by 40% by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions from this sector by 2050. To achieve this goal, a series of new regulations are being implemented, starting from 2024. Known as Europe’s ‘Fit for 55’ package, this proposal includes the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) and FuelEU Maritime regulations,” FOBAS said in a bulletin.

“With this in mind, LR is hosting an online webinar to discuss how to optimise compliance with these new regulations.”

The webinar will cover:

  • The impact of these regulations on maritime stakeholders, including shipowners, operators, charterers and port authorities

  • Live Q&A panel session.
