Nordic energy company Gasum on Friday (27 October) said it completed its first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation of a cruise vessel in Hamburg.
The firm said it bunkered MSC Cruises’ ship MSC Euribia with LNG bunker fuel using bunker vessel Kairos on 24 October.
“Just one day later Gasum doubled down in Hamburg, and Coralius supplied the LNG fuelled dredger Vox Ariane operated by VanOord,” Grégoire Hartig, Sales Manager of Gasum, said in a social media post.

“These operations eventually put Hamburg on the map of the ports offering LNG bunkering to the shipping industry, opening to the full decarbonisation potential of LNG.”
Manifold Times previously reported LNG bunker vessel Kairos rejoining Gasum’s fleet of vessels after it was sub-leased outside the firm in October 2022.
Gasum said the return of Kairos will increase Gasum’s market service level in the Skaw and market expansion into Northwest Europe.
