Singapore marine fuel sales volume dip 4% on year in July

Sales of bunker fuel at Singapore port decreased by 4% in July on year, showed Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) data.

A total 3.88 million metric tonnes (mt) (exact: 3,878,200 mt) of marine fuel was sold at the port in July, lower than 4.04 million mt (exact: 4,035,800 mt) recorded during the similar month last year.

Deliveries of 500 centistokes (cSt), 380 cSt and 180 cSt grades in July 2019 (versus on year), was respectively 688,500 mt (-18.1% from 841,000 mt), 2.78 million mt (-4.8% from 2.92 million mt), and 24,000 mt (-9.8% from 26,600 mt).

Low sulphur 500 cSt, 380 cSt and 180 cSt products recorded sales of zero mt (unchanged from zero mt), 22,200 mt (+344% from 5,000 mt), and 42,000 mt (+54.4% from 27,200 mt).

Low sulphur marine gas oil (LS MGO) sales were posted at 216,900 mt (+116.5% from 100,200 mt) and MGO at 51,400 mt (+2.2% from 50,300 mt).

To date, the amount of bunkers sold at the port totalled 27.59 million mt from January to July 2019, 6.1% down compared to 29.39 million mt during the similar period last year.
