Singapore: BrightNote by Brightree becomes seventh whitelisted e-BDN solution

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) recently added Brightree Pte Ltd and its solution, BrightNote, to the list of approved digital bunkering solutions for the implementation of electronic bunker delivery note (e-BDN) in the republic.

Brightree now joins Ofiniti, TradeGo, ADP Clear, Angsana Technology Pte Ltd, ZeroNorth (BTS Pte Ltd) and Bunkerchain in MPA’s whitelisted Digital Bunkering solutions providers.

When contacted, a Brightree representative said the company received approval from MPA at the end of May.

Two months ago, Brightree presented its updated website and the launch of its new e-Bunkering Delivery Note (e-BDN) platform.

The company said both are part of its ongoing push to modernise and simplify Singapore’s bunkering operations.

It stated that its customers include major industry players such as PSA, along with other leading port operators and marine fuel suppliers across Singapore.

Manifold Times previously reported Singapore becoming the first port in the world to implement e-BDN when MPA launched its digital bunkering initiative on 1 November 2023.

With effect from 1 April 2025, bunker suppliers in Singapore will provide digital bunkering services and issue electronic bunker delivery notes as a default following successful trials conducted since November 2023.

eBDNs can be verified through a centralised e-BDN record verification system by MPA for additional transparency and transaction integrity in bunkering operations. Key stakeholders such as banks and vessel owners can verify the authenticity of eBDNs received from bunker suppliers against the information transmitted to MPA.
