Singapore-based international bunker trading house Singfuels, which first set up its Dubai office in 2016, on Thursday (23 July) announced an office relocation to the Jumeirah Lakes Towers district.
Strategically situated in one of the world’s renowned free zone district, the new Dubai office will accommodate further growth of the team and is physically nearer to the company’s local partners, says a spokesman.
“We aim to build closer ties with our partners in the region and provide high-quality services 24/7,” states Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Vice President, Business Development.
“With a bigger office, we will expand the team by hiring experienced talents to strengthen our presence in the market and to increase our service offerings.”
Sharma leads the company’s efforts in cargo trading and developing new market opportunities in the Middle East and Africa while supporting the South East Asia desk in strategising its trade flows.
He brings in ample market experience with over nine years in trading, refining and shipping. Sharma has previously worked with Nakilat (Qatar Gas), KAMCA and Refinitiv involving a unique blend of both Physical market and Paper (Futures).
The Dubai office is also manned by Maaz Ahmed, Senior Bunker Trader, and Vaishnav Kodoth, Junior Trader.
Ahmed started the Sing Fuels Dubai bunker trading desk in 2016, covering the entire Middle East Market & West African market. Currently, he covers the Middle East, West Africa and South Asian Markets.
He is an expert in bunker trading & business development and has in-depth knowledge of the markets he is handling. His strengths include customer relationship management, supplier relationship management, resolution of disputes, bunker trade, JV & Partnership for business, legal understanding of shipping and bunker business and risk assessment of the business.
Kodoth had previously worked in bunker operations for several years. In Sing Fuels, he is tasked with handling the local trading, supply chain in UAE and to develop physical trading for inland and bunker market, along with refined oil products around the region.
