Proman Stena Bulk, a joint venture (JV) between global methanol producer Proman and one of the world’s largest tanker shipping companies Stena Bulk, on Wednesday (22 November) said it will be holding a naming ceremony for Stena Provident and Stena Progressive.

They are the final vessels in the initial six-strong Proman and Stena Bulk JV methanol fleet, at Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) in China.

“We look forward to celebrating this milestone for the first time at GSI, which completed and delivered all of our state-of-the-art IMOIIMeMAX ships despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic,” it said in a social media post.

Commissioned by European companies, fuelled by methanol bunker fuel produced in Trinidad and the US, constructed in China and crewed by a team of international seafarers, Proman Stena Bulk said the vessels are a testament to the power of global collaboration.
