Keel laid for methanol-ready bunker tanker “Anna Cosulich” in China

Fratelli Cosulich Marine Energy on Tuesday (26 August) announced the keel laying ceremony of its methanol-ready bunker tanker which took place at Taizhou Maple Leaf Shipyard, China.
At 7,999 DWT, Anna Cosulich is the first in a series of four next-generation bunker tankers designed to support the maritime industry’s shift towards cleaner energy solutions.
Anna Cosulich is set for delivery in the first quarter of 2026. It will be equipped with two mass flow meters, MarineLINE coating and all equipment necessary for methanol bunkering, as per local regulations.
“Anna Cosulich will not only strengthen our fleet, but also embody our vision for the future of bunkering: methanol-ready, transition-proof, and built to combine safety, performance and environmental responsibility.”
In April this year, the company announced the steel cutting ceremony of Anna Cosulich, the first of four methanol-ready IMO II bunker tankers.
At the same shipyard, Fratelli Cosulich Marine Energy is also building another vessel: Maya Cosulich, an IMO II bunker tanker and methanol dual-fuelled.
Taizhou Maple Leaf Shipyard started constructing the 7,990 dwt Maya Cosulich in July 2024.
Maya Cosulich is scheduled for delivery in the last quarter of 2025 and will operate in Singapore under a fixed-rate time charter contract with global commodities trader Trafigura.
