IMO 2020 compliant 0.5% low sulphur fuel oil needed for the country’s maritime fleet of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) will be fully supplied and distributed by National Iranian Oil Product Distribution Company (NIOPDC), says the Managing Director of its Markazi Department, according to Tehran Times.

Imam Khomeini Oil Refinery in the Markazi province has already allocated separate lines, tanks, and loading arms to store and ship the needed fuel for IRISL, said Saied Jamshidi.

“The main problem […] has been the contractors’ failure in fulfilling their commitments,” said Saied Jamshidi; he was clarifying rumours that NIOPDC is not supplying enough low-sulphur fuel for IRISL.

Jamshidi explained since 6 November, Imam Khomeini Refinery has transferred 20,000 tons of low-sulphur fuel oil to some agreed storages via pipeline.
