The International Green Shipping Corridor Alliance (IGSCA) was launched at the 2026 Global Sustainable Transport Forum in Beijing, with 45 founding members from 12 countries, according to CMA CGM (China) Shipping Co Ltd on Thursday (24 September).
The founding members are companies and organisations representing both upstream and downstream sectors of the green shipping value chain.
The Alliance’s first General Assembly was held concurrently, hosted by the Ministry of Transport of People’s Republic of China, was held in Beijing.
As a founding member of the Alliance, CMA CGM was represented by Amélie Humphreys, General Manager of CMA CGM China, who attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech.
She reaffirmed CMA CGM’s continued support for international collaboration and its commitment to working with partners across the value chain to advance the decarbonization of maritime transport and accelerate the development of green shipping worldwide.
Humphreys emphasised that the launch of the International Green Shipping Corridor Alliance comes at a pivotal moment for the industry, and that the scale of the challenge requires collaboration across the entire maritime ecosystem.
IGSCA was jointly initiated by the Global Sustainable Transport Innovation and Knowledge Center (GSTIKC), COSCO Shipping Group, CMA CGM, China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC), Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG), and other industry partners.
