China: Chimbusco completes first methanol bunkering operation at Qingdao Port

China Marine Bunker (PetroChina) (Chimbusco), in collaboration with Qingdao Port Group, on Thursday (14 August) successfully completed the first methanol bunkering operation conducted at the port.
The company delivered 214 metric tonnes (mt) of methanol to COSCO Shipping’s large container vessel, COSCO Shipping Carnation using seven trucks at Qingdao Qianwan Port Area.
The bunkering operation utilised land-based skid-mounted marine methanol bunkering skids.
“The successful completion of this methanol fuel bunkering has laid a solid foundation for Qingdao Port’s ambition to build a world-class green and low-carbon port,” the company said.
“It provides strong support for COSCO Shipping Group’s response to the national maritime power strategy and fulfills Chimbusco’s promise to provide safe, efficient, and green clean energy to its partners.”
