Choong Sheen Mao, Chief Operating Officer of EMF, said: “We are proud to receive the Maritime SG LowCarbon50 Award, presented by MPA, SSA, and UN Global Compact Network Singapore at Singapore Maritime Week 2025.

“The LowCarbon 50 award strongly shows our commitment to maritime sustainability by providing multi-fuel solutions, GHG emissions tracking, and carbon management strategies.

“Sustainability is central to our business, and we are committed to accelerating the transition to cleaner energy for shipping. This recognition reinforces our efforts to develop practical, scalable solutions that support a low-carbon future for the industry.”

Maria Angeles Lopez, Decarbonisation Manager at Peninsula, said: “Receiving this award is recognition and validation of our efforts to drive sustainability in a pragmatic way.

“At Peninsula, we believe in taking proactive steps towards a cleaner maritime industry and have been working hard to ensure that this is done across our global network. Through investment in alternative fuels, assets, people, strategic partnerships, and rigorous carbon tracking processes, we remain committed to driving meaningful change today, and in the future.

“We would like to thank the MPA for their acknowledgement of our efforts and for granting us the award.”

Idris Talib, Technical Manager – APAC, ADERCO, said: “Sustainability is an integral part of Aderco, and receiving the LowCarbon Award reinforces our commitment to advancing sustainable initiatives among both our internal teams and external partners.”

Companies’ submissions were evaluated by a panel comprising members from Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), GCNS, and industry associations, based on the quality of their carbon accounting using the Carbon Emissions Recording Tool (CERT), and their emissions reduction measures.

The Award is a collaboration under the Carbon Management MoU signed between MPA, the UN Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS), and various industry associations, namely the Association of Regional Ferry Operators (ARFO), the Association of Singapore Marine Industries (ASMI), the Singapore Association of Ship Supplies and Services (SASS), and the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA).

The Maritime SG LowCarbon50 Programme is another initiative under this MOU. In 2024, around 60 participants from about 30 companies took part in workshops under this Programme to strengthen their carbon management practices.
