PetroChina International completes its first biofuel bunkering operation in China

PetroChina International recently achieved a milestone after completing its first biofuel bunkering operation in China.
The company refuelled containership YM CERTAINTY with about 500 metric tonnes (mt) of bio bunker fuel at the Chiwan Port Terminal, Shenzhen.
The operation marked the company taking an important step in actively responding to the national “dual carbon” strategy and striving to promote the optimization and upgrading of the energy structure.
Under the overall coordination of the Refined Products Department, PetroChina International Hong Kong and South China collaborated efficiently, respectively responsible for organising the procurement of biofuel resources and handling import customs clearance, warehousing logistics, and final refuelling, thus creating a successful full-chain service system, spanning from resource procurement to terminal bunkering.
In the future, under the leadership of the company, the Refined Products Department will continue to leverage its global “single account” management advantage for biofuels, accelerating the construction of a new energy system that is low-carbon, clean, safe and efficient, which will provide customers with green and low-carbon full-industry chain services, and continue to contribute to the sustainable development of the energy transportation industry.
