Pavilion Energy on Monday (26 February) said it completed another successful delivery of LNG to Hapag-Lloyd AG’s container vessel, Brussels Express on 21 February.
“A proud moment for us in this Ship-to-Container Ship LNG bunkering as Brussels Express is the world’s first ultra-large container ship to have switched to LNG propulsion,” the firm said in a social media post.
This operation comes close on the heels of Brassavola’s recent first STS LNG bunkering operation in Singapore waters.
Wolfgang Schoch, Senior Director of Regional Operations at Hapag-Llyod, said, “We are happy to collaborate with Pavilion Energy, our partner in LNG bunkering, to provide us with a steady supply of LNG, thereby supporting our efforts in decarbonising our shipping operations.”
The refuel was carried out at the Eastern Bunkering A Anchorage as the vessel made its onward passage to North Europe Rotterdam and Wilhelmshaven.
“Grateful for this opportunity to partner Hapag-Lloyd in decarbonising the maritime sector and special thanks to our partners, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd., V.Group, SLNG – Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd, who made this operation possible,” Pavilion Energy added.
