Southeast Asia’s first SIMOPS LNG bunkering of PCTC conducted in Singapore

Singapore LNG bunker supplier FueLNG on Thursday (17 August) said its bunkering vessel FueLNG Bellina carried out Southeast Asia’s first SIMOPS LNG bunkering for a pure car and truck carrier (PCTC), to NYK’s Jasmine Leader in Singapore.
The operation was conducted with NYK Line and Shell at the PSA Asia Automobile Terminal Singapore on 16 August.
“Simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), which involve bunkering together with cargo handling, ensure a seamless and efficient port call for the Jasmine Leader,” it said in a social media post.
“At a time when the maritime industry is striving towards net zero, such an operation is a testament to our collective dedication to reducing carbon emissions and embracing cleaner alternatives.”
Tahir Faruqui, Global Head of Downstream LNG at Shell Trading, said the operation showcased how collaborative efforts of suppliers and port authorities can enable efficient ship operations while advancing decarbonisation.
“LNG is readily available at key ports, terminals and anchorages along major shipping routes, and its supply infrastructure continues to expand. At Shell, we support our customers’ transition to LNG at 19 locations with 12 bunker vessels across the globe,” he said in a separate social media post.
