Vietnam: Coast guard detains ‘TG 95823 TS’ for carrying 50,000 litres of illegal diesel oil

The Vietnam Coast Guard on Sunday (22 November) said the patrol team of the Marine Police Zone Command Region 4 have detained a tanker TG 95823 TS for carrying 50,000 litres of undocumented diesel oil. 

The team was out on patrol on Saturday (21 November) at 12.30 am when they discovered TG 95823 TS to be behaving suspiciously at the South Western sea area.

 Initial investigations revealed that there was a Captain and four crew members onboard. The Captain was unable to present the vessel’s documents, crew’s professional certificates and invoices proving the legality of the diesel oil carried onboard. 

Currently, Marine Police Zone Command Region 4 have escorted the vessel and diesel onboard to the port of Fleet 401 (Phu Quoc) for further investigations and to be dealt with in accordance with Vietnamese law.

The final meeting of the company and creditors for Vanda Marine Services Pte Ltd, has been scheduled to take place on 7 March, according to the company’s liquidator on a notice posted on Friday (7 February) on the Government Gazette.

The meeting will be held at 8 Burn Road, Trivex #16-12, Singapore 369977 at 11am. It is being held for the purpose of having an account laid before the meeting showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company has been disposed of and hearing any explanation that may be given by the liquidator.
