DeaL Energy procures bio bunker fuel for Lauritzen Bulkers ship “Indian Bulker”

Bunker purchasing outfit DeaL Energy on Wednesday (20 December) said it was responsible for the biofuel bunkering operation of Lauritzen Bulkers ship Indian Bulker, from end to end.

DeaL Energy said it was involved in buying, planning and coordinating the delivery of the biofuel with its partners.

“We are extremely proud to be a part of the journey towards Lauritzen Bulkers decarbonisation,” it said in a social media post.

Lauritzen Bulkers, in a separate post, said: “We have now bunkered our first 100% biofuel on our Indian Bulker.”

“This will give us important learning about how to handle 100% biofuel on board our vessels, enabling us to serve our clients with green transportation.”

Manifold Times previously reported two shipping companies, namely J. Lauritzen and DFDS, have recently joining forces to form DeaL Energy.

J. Lauritzen recently signed the final contracts for three methanol dual-fuel Kamsarmax bulk carriers, which will be built by Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Japan.

The newbuilds will be fully owned by Lauritzen NexGen Shipping, which J. Lauritzen and Lauritzen Bulkers will use as a platform for further investments in zero carbon emission and future-proof assets for the shipping industry.
