Bunkering vessel Hai Gang Wei Lai on Friday (9 August) successfully completed the LNG bunkering operation of the world’s largest car carrier Hoegh Aurora at Shanghai Nangang Terminal in 12 hours, according to Shanghai SIPG Energy Service Co., Ltd.
The Hoegh Aurora was delivered on 8 August and began its maiden voyage. With a loading capacity of 9,100 CEU, it is currently the world’s largest environmentally friendly car carrier and the first ship in the field of car carriers that can use carbon-neutral fuel.
The success of the first LNG bunkering of the Hoegh Aurora has added a new ship type to Hai Gang Wei Lai’s operations.
For this operation, Hai Gang Wei Lai left Yangshan waters for the first time to refuel international ships with LNG bunker fuel at Shanghai Nangang Terminal, further expanding the refuelling operation points.
