China State Shipbuilding Corporation subsidiary Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. on Monday (19 December) successfully delivered LNG dual-fuel bulk carrier UBUNTU HARMONY to U-Ming Marine Transport (Hong Kong) Limited.
The 190,000 tonnes ship was independently developed and designed by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.
The ship is driven by LNG fuel and traditional fuel oil. It is equipped with two Type C LNG fuel tanks. The cruising range reaches 20,000 nautical miles.
It can complete two round-trip from China to Australia or one round-trip from China to Brazil per time.
In the LNG mode, the ship eliminates particulate matter and sulfide emissions while the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) is reduced by 45% compared with EEDI baseline.
