The following bunker report has been provided by freight market information provider Baltic Exchange for post on Singapore bunkering publication Manifold Times:
Commentary:
Bunker prices are generally higher than last week, up 2-6% in most locations and grades, but availability is solid across the board. The main concern presently is weather in the US Gulf, with Tropical Storm Bret potentially forming a hurricane as it approaches the eastern Caribs. Gulf of Mexico installations are outside of most models, but the storm itself is very volatile & unpredictable. The most likely landfall will be EC Central America, but do not discount the possibility of disruption anywhere in the broad overall region. In specific markets, ARA HSFO has shown the most volatility, though LSGO in R’dam is showing the largest overall price increase.
