New York-listed global energy management company World Kinect Corporation, operating as World Fuel,  recently announced that it recorded a 15.2% on year increase in gross profit for the third quarter (Q3) of 2026.

The company posted gross profit of USD 288 million million in Q3 2026, higher than gross profit of USD 250 million seen during Q3 2025.

Revenue for its combined aviation, land and marine segments in Q3 2026 was USD 13.3 billion, a 42% increase from revenue of USD 9.4 billion in Q3 2025.

Gross profit for its combined aviation, land and marine segments in Q3 2026 was USD 288 million, a 15% increase from USD 250 million in Q3 2025.

Specifically, the marine segment generated gross profit of USD 58.8 million in Q3 2026, up by 131% on year from USD 25.5 million in Q3 2026.

This was primarily driven by higher profit contribution from the company’s core resale business and certain physical locations, which continue to benefit from increased bunker fuel prices and global supply dynamics.

In total, WKC sold 3.7 million metric tonnes (mt) of bunker fuel during Q3 2026, down by 8% from 4.1 million mt of marine fuels during the similar period of last year.

According to the earnings call transcript for Q3 2026, Jose-Miguel Tejada, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, said the drop in volume reflected continued conflict related disruptions to shipping patterns and customer activity.

“Looking to the fourth quarter of 2026, we expect marine gross profit to remain above the prior year level but declined sequentially. As the incremental market benefits continue to moderate. Turning to land, we continue to realize the benefits of our simpler, more focused portfolio,” he said

Ira Birns, Chief Executive Officer, said: “Turning to marine, we delivered another outstanding quarter as the business continued to outperform.

“That performance benefited in part from fuel prices and volatility that for much of the quarter were higher than we had anticipated in late July when we reported second quarter results. Ongoing volatility schedule disruptions, and shifting trade patterns continue to create opportunities for us to help customers navigate changing trading conditions. These are precisely the types of conditions that the value of the scale and capabilities of our global marine platform.”

“Our extensive supply network, access to liquidity, and ability to reliably source and deliver fuel where and when customers need it, allow us to help them navigate that complexity while creating additional opportunities for us to capture attractive returns.”
