Dubai-based bunker trading firm FLEX Commodities FZCO (FLEX) on Monday (11 May) said it has opened a new office in Seoul, South Korea, representing the company’s continued strategic expansion into the Asia-Pacific region.
The company said its South Korean entity, registered at the Seoul Finance Center, is authorised to trade crude oil, petroleum products and petrochemicals, as well as provide marine fuel oil brokerage and agency services.
Alan Yang has been appointed Country Manager, South Korea. Alan brings over 15 years of expertise spanning marine engineering, liquid surveying, and trading. Most recently Head of Korea Business Development at Oilmar DMCC, he has primarily held trader roles at Chimbusco Pan Nation Petro-Chemical Co., Ltd. A graduate of Korea Maritime and Ocean University and a certified surveyor recognised by Korea’s Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Alan’s deep market knowledge and strong industry networks position him to lead our Korea growth with confidence.
Yujin Kang joined the team as a Bunker Trader. Yujin brings over a decade of bunker industry experience, including her most recent role as Bunker Trader at Oilmar DMCC and five years as Bunker Trading Operator at Hanwa (Korea) Co., Ltd.
“A graduate of Doshisha University, Kyoto, and fluent in both Korean and Japanese, Yujin brings counterparty relationships and operational depth that will be invaluable as we build our Korea book,” the company said.
