China: Chimbusco completes its first STS green methanol bunkering op at Ningbo Port

China Marine Bunker (PetroChina) (Chimbusco) on Wednesday (22 April) successfully completed its first ship-to-ship (STS) green methanol bunkering at the Ningbo Meishan Island International Container Terminal.
The company supplied 503 metric tonnes of domestically produced green methanol fuel to dual-fuel container ship COSCO Shipping Libra, owned by COSCO Shipping Group.
This operation marks Chimbusco’s first ship-to-ship green methanol bunkering at Ningbo Port and the second green methanol bunkering completed at this port following a previous skid-mounted bunkering operation.
“It signifies that Chimbusco has officially achieved the parallel operation of both skid-mounted bunkering and STS bunkering modes at Ningbo Port, fully entering a new phase of diversified bunkering for green methanol,” the company said.
The company added that the STS bunkering mode can efficiently meet the batch bunkering needs of large methanol dual-fuel vessels, further enhancing CHIMBUSCO’s green fuel supply capacity and comprehensive service level at Ningbo Port.
