ElbOil celebrates sixth year of operations in Singapore with new local office

ElbOil Singapore Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Hamburg-based marine fuels trading, broking and hedging house ElbOil GmbH, in late May expanded operations at the republic with a new, larger office.
“Led by Mr Harro Booth, ElbOil seized the opportunity to enter the Southeast Asian market in 2020 by opening its Singapore branch,” Sherry Shi, Head of Elboil Singapore, Chief Rep of Elboil Shanghai Rep Office, told Manifold Times.
“It has been six years since then, and the Singapore office has now grown from two people at the beginning to nine.
“Combined with our Shanghai office which started operations in March, our total staff count in Asia is now 12.”
According to Ms Shi, the new facility not only provides a larger space for a more comfortable working environment but also offers a convenient and private meeting location for customers and suppliers alike.
ElbOil’s Singapore office, meanwhile, reached an operational record in 2024 by achieving a bunker trading volume of about 3-4 times when compared to the 2020/2021 period.
Harro Booth, Managing Director of ElbOil Group, elaborated on the increasingly important role of the Group’s Singapore branch.
“With the change of the world economic pattern, some developing countries in Asia are rising. Being the economic centre of Asia, Singapore has sufficient advantages in terms of geographical location, commercial landscape, and cultural environment,” he stated.
“ElbOil Singapore plays a very important role in the entire group. It not only actively develops new markets, but also constantly adapts to new changes in the landscape by looking for better opportunities and providing greater support to the group’s global customers.”
