Singapore: Bunker fuel sales up by 12.1% on year in January 2024

Sales of bunker fuel at Singapore port increased by 12.1% on year during January 2024, according to Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) data.

In total, 4.91 million metric tonnes (mt) (exact 4,906,100 mt) of various marine fuel grades were delivered at the world’s largest bunkering port in January, rising from 4.38 million mt (4,378,330 mt) recorded during January 2023.

Deliveries of marine fuel oil, low sulphur fuel oil, ultra low sulphur fuel oil, marine gas oil and marine diesel oil in January (against on year) recorded respectively 1.66 million mt (+32.8% from 1.25 million mt), 2.86 million mt (+3.25% from 2.77 million mt), zero (from zero), 13,500 mt (+24.9% from 10,800 mt) and zero (from zero).

Bio-blended variants of marine fuel oil, low sulphur fuel oil, ultra low sulphur fuel oil, marine gas oil and marine diesel oil in January (against on year) recorded respectively zero (from zero), 45,300 mt (+66.5% from 27,200 mt), zero (from zero), zero (from zero) and zero (from zero).

LNG and methanol sales were posted respectively at 10,400 mt (+100% from zero) and zero (from zero).
